The term backgammon was coined in 17th century England. In the Mediterranean area, where it is known as ‘tavli’ or ‘tavla’, it is particularly popular. This high-quality version, which comes from a Greek manufactory, combines traditional craftsmanship with contemporary design. The playing surface is made of sound-absorbing cork with coloured triangles (points) in red and green. The game pieces (checkers) with a pleasant feel and natural grain, are made of genuine wood.
